Drum Wrench

drum wrench

A drum wrench, also called a drum bung wrench or a drum plug wrench helps you place and extract the bungs that close and open steel or plastic drums. These bungs screw into a flange on the drum to fasten and seal the container against leakage. Bung wrenches are a material handling necessity that help prevent spills, reduce costs, and keep your warehouse clean. These tools can be found in various shapes, sizes and materials such as metal, fiberglass or wood. EBKContainers has a large selection of both standard and specialty bung wrenches to meet your needs. For example, we carry spark resistant bronze and non-sparking aluminum wrenches, hex head or round head, drillable 2 inch and 3/4 inch steel or plastic bung wrench, all-in-one drum bung wrench and more. For your safety, we even have a spark-resistant model drum wrench made from manganese bronze to be an extra precaution for working with flammable products.

Drum bung wrenches have many surfaces and shapes to fit virtually all bungs on a steel or plastic drum. They come in a variety of handles, some with ergonomic grips for comfort and ease of use. They are designed for durability and long life. The generous size of the wrench provides extra leverage and hand clearance for comfortable operation. They can be used for both tightening and loosening drum bungs to release pressure on the container inside before opening.

A hammer is a weighted tool consisting of a head fixed to a handle (also known as a haft). It is swung to deliver an impact to a small area of an object such as wood, metal or rock for a wide range of driving, shaping, breaking and percussive music making applications. Modern hammers are generally made from high strength steel that is heat treated for hardness, with the face of the head (also known as the poll) being shaped into a claw, pick, flat peen or semi-spherical ball peen depending on the type of hammer. The handle can be either wood or fiberglass, although the latter is more durable and resists cracking and rotting.
